Wish Really Hard, and then Take Action—$50,000 in Grants Announced Today
Thank you to all of you who have taken part in Finley’s birthday gift this year through reading and sharing—and in some cases contributing to—our Birthday to Earth Day motivational posts on Facebook and Finely’s Green Leap Forward website. To complete the gift we hope you will decide to do all you can—give some of these ideas a try and let awareness impact your actions.
Today thanks to the generosity and good will of so many who have joined with us this year, Finley’s Green Leap Forward Fund will be increasing the total 2017 Earth Day grants to a new high—$50,000—making a total of $100,000 given since Finley made the first $10,000 in grants in 2014.
The handful of carefully selected organizations below encompass our guiding principals—fighting climate change and making lives more joyful in the process. Our grantees are working with children to green the inner city, empowering women in sub-Saharan Africa to gain economic security by planting trees, sustaining the rainforest by improving the health and livelihood of indigenous peoples, and saving trees, water, and carbon emissions by making it easier for the elderly to cancel unwanted catalog solicitation.
Whether your action is personal, or on a local or global scale, you are living Finley’s message—thank you for all your support this year.
